“Crash,” not “accident.”
Many Tampa drivers were unfortunate witnesses on Monday, March 19, to the aftermath of a motorcycle v. tractor-trailer crash that occurred on I-275 near Bearss Avenue.
Reports indicate that the 24 year old motorcycle rider may have lost control of his motorcycle and struck the tractor-trailer, killing the rider.
It is not known at this time whether the tractor-trailer driver bears fault for the crash or if the motorcycle rider’s potential loss of control was the cause of the crash.
Motorcycle riders in Florida require special training in order to be able to operate a motorcycle. But training cannot overcome other drivers or the laws of physics.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. on southbound I-275 near Bearss Avenue when investigators say the 24-year-old motorcyclist lost control.
According to a crash report, the motorcycle landed on the roadway and the driver landed on the outside shoulder of the road after the crash.
